This is a very personal painting I did when I made the decision to quit drinking after 12 years.  Drinking had a huge hold on me and was continually coming before my relationship with God, making a mess of my life.  I represented alcohol as the Devil in the painting and thought of the verse where it says “Resist the Devil and he will flee from you” so I illustrated him literally being resisted by tying him up, setting him on fire, no longer having the power to use alcohol against me and as I submitted fully to God I have been free from alcohol for 1 ½ years and it has been amazing!!
